What Kenmore makes — and who actually builds it
Kenmore does not manufacture anything. It is a house brand, first used by Sears in 1913 and now owned by Transform SR Brands LLC, and every unit was built by a real manufacturer under contract — Whirlpool, LG, Frigidaire/Electrolux, GE, Amana, or Broan among them. Which OEM built a given unit is identified by the first three digits of the model number, and that prefix determines the parts, the error codes, and the repair approach. Our lineup spans ten categories, repaired here under the same roof: washers, dryers, dishwashers, refrigerators, freezers, ice makers, ranges, ovens, cooktops, and range hoods. Browse every category from the links below or identify your unit in the model library. We are an independent, third-party service and are not affiliated with or endorsed by Kenmore, Sears, or Transformco.
Laundry and dishwashing
Kenmore washers are Whirlpool-built 110/665-series top-load machines or LG-built 796-series front-load machines, and dryers are Whirlpool-built 110-series electric and gas models. Kenmore dishwashers split between Whirlpool-built 665-series and Frigidaire-built 587-series builds, each running its own control platform.
Refrigeration and cooking
Kenmore refrigerators read by builder — LG-built 795-series French-door and bottom-mount models, Frigidaire-built 253-series, Whirlpool-built 106-series, and GE-built 363-series side-by-sides — while standalone freezers are Frigidaire-built 253-series uprights and a chest model. Kenmore ranges pair a cooktop with a self-cleaning oven, mostly Frigidaire-built 790/970-series including the Kenmore Pro tier, while wall ovens come from Frigidaire and Whirlpool, and cooktops span Frigidaire- and Roper-built electric and gas surfaces.
Ice and ventilation
Kenmore ice makers are Whirlpool-built 106-series freestanding units, plus the automatic icemaker built into a refrigerator, and Kenmore range hoods are Broan-built 233-series under-cabinet models.
The thread that defines Kenmore
Across every category the defining Kenmore fact is the same: the nameplate says Kenmore, but the engineering, the error codes, and the parts belong to the real OEM behind the prefix — which is why identifying the appliance first, through its model number, points a technician at the right genuine OEM part. Our experienced, independent technicians service every Kenmore appliance regardless of age or builder, including discontinued and legacy units. If your appliance is showing a problem, start with the error-code library, and when you are ready, book a repair and our team will confirm the next available visit.
