The Kenmore 970-598421 is a discontinued / legacy Frigidaire-built range — no longer in production, but we still service it. The "970" prefix marks the older WCI/Frigidaire-heritage numbering block, distinct from the newer 790 series.
The F code your Kenmore range shows depends on who built it: 790/970-prefix (Frigidaire) ranges read F10 (a safety-critical temperature runaway — disconnect power and do not use until repaired), F30/F31 (the oven RTD sensor), and F11 (a shorted keypad); 362/363-prefix (GE) ranges use an F0–F9 family; 665-prefix (Whirlpool) ranges show F1, F2E0, and F3E0/F3E1. Gas surface burners carry no code and are diagnosed by symptom. See range repair and our range error-code guides.
